Colorado 2007

June 25 2007

Monday:  Up early  for breakfast.  Coffee is delivered to the door of our cabin daily.  Nice.  All the food here is first rate.  I highly recommend the oatmeal.

Today was Kelly's first day in Kid Camp.  She's a outgoing and gregarious little girl, but we figured we'd ease her into the whole thing with a half day session.  Kelly road her first pony, Pepper.  Salt, the companion mare, was on a union required rest day.

While Cowgirl Kelly did her thing Babs and I went for a 4 mile run through the countryside. Temps were in the 90's and while it's a dry heat, in the sun it's still hot.  Back East we'd be sweating like bacon so no complaints from me.  The altitude (8500 feet) tends to take the wind out of one's sails so we kept it slow.

We lunched at the pool and Kelly swam until late afternoon.  Horses and pool; a happy child.

Dinner, for Mom and Dad, was Prime Rib au Jus with herb roasted taters and broccoli with cheese sauce.  To give the Parental Units a break, The Ranch had pizza and movie night for the Offspring.
